RESEARCH ROOM

Every good bookshop has a corner where you can sit with the books before you choose one. This is ours. Here, two thousand years of Christian writers and their works are gathered into three ways of exploring: by time, by subject, and by influence.

Much of it you can read free. A growing number of public-domain classics are hosted here in our own reader; most free texts are a click away at trusted libraries across the web. Browse, read, and find the book you want to own — then come back when the shop opens to make it yours.

No account or sign-in is needed.

Research Tool #1

SEARCH THE LIBRARY

Find works by what they are about, not just by name. Search every title, description and author for a subject — martyrdom, prayer, the Trinity — then narrow the results by era, tradition, language, difficulty, or what you can read free today.

Research Tool #2

INTERACTIVE TIMELINE

Two thousand years of Christian writers on one line. See who lived and wrote alongside whom, and follow a tradition across the centuries. Click any author or work and a card opens below: an author’s card gathers everything they wrote, and a work’s card shows where you can read, hear or buy it, with a link to its full page. Build a reading list as you go — it’s saved in your browser, ready to copy, download or share, with no sign-in needed.

Research Tool #3

INFLUENCE MAP

See who shaped whom. Choose a writer to trace the authors who influenced them and those they influenced in turn, or step back to view the whole web of connections across the centuries. Every link is a judgment confirmed by a person.
